Electric Heating and Air Conditioning Program

Sioux Valley Energy offers energy efficiency and conservation programs to save you money.  Members who qualify for the electric heat rate save big by installing a separate sub-meter to calculate the reduced heating rate of 5.14 cents per kilowatt hour for the billing cycles of October through April.

Electric Heat Programs for ENERGY STAR heat pumps

• Rebates will be issued for the installation of ENERGY STAR heat pumps.  A $200 rebate will be given for an ENERGY STAR air-to-air heat pump and a $600 rebate for a geothermal heat pump. 
• In addition to the rebate, members can take advantage of low interest financing for their ENERGY STAR electric heating equipment.  Loans are available up to $10,000 at 5% interest with a 7 year term.
• The sub-meter equipment is installed free of charge.
• AHRI Certification and a final invoice are needed to process ENERGY STAR rebates.

Electric Heat Programs for electric resistance

• Members can still participate in the reduced electric heat rate program. A $200 sub-meter equipment fee is charged for the member's share of the installation cost.
• Rebates and loans are not available for electric resistance. 

Air Conditioning Credit

Members who agree to connect central air conditioners/heat pumps to Sioux Valley Energy's load management system qualify for a $6 credit per month for the billing cycles of May through September with a minimum total electric usage of 300 kWh per month.  Members do not need to have an electric heating system to qualify.

Commercial Electric Heat Program

A rebate of $100 per ton is available up to a maximum of 150 tons for commercial facilities installing a heat pump.
