Sioux Valley Energy, an electric cooperative
that provides power to over 20,000 homes,
farms, businesses, and industries in a seven-county area of east-central
South Dakota
and southwest Minnesota, has initiated Project E2
(Energy Efficiency) to help educate
members, contractors, and employees about the importance of energy
efficiency and
conservation. Project E2
will include the construction of an affordable, energy efficient
home with “off-the-shelf” technologies (systems and products that can be
purchased locally)
and a public awareness campaign. The project is endorsed and supported by
the Home
Builders Association of the Sioux Empire and the South Dakota Public
Utilities Commission.
